Pierre Dørge (guitar), Irene Becker (Keyboards), Morten Carlsen (horns) and Benita Haastrup (drums) – with a guest performance by Dawda Jobarteh – played a concert at Koncertkirken in Copenhagen on September 17, 2023.
The clouds in the sky are free and driven by turbocharged chaos without any control or system. The wind blows in the trees and the leaves rustle randomly, completely at the mercy of the changing winds. Chaos, turbulence and randomness. Nevertheless, there is nothing more peaceful than enjoying the clouds silently sailing across the sky and the wind in the trees. The clouds don't sail in pairs and the leaves don't rustle in rhythm, yet there is a beautiful harmony and pulse to it all.
That's how I experienced this wonderful evening in the company of Pierre Dørge, Irene Becker, Morten Carlsen and Benita Haastrup. Wild improvisations paired with beautiful melodies in such a fine harmony that I had a hard time distinguishing when something began and something ended. The love between the four musicians and the love of the music met us who were allowed to join in. A beautiful, wild and peaceful evening in Koncertkirken. Thank you for that!
